Joe Falcon is an intellectual property, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office registered patent attorney. As a member of the Intellectual Property Law Group and the Business Transactions Practice Group, he provides his clients with advice and opinions on a full range of patent and other IP issues with an understanding on the impact that intellectual property has on an organization. Joe assists his clients with patent and IP matters including patentability, non-infringement and invalidity opinions, drafting patent and trademark applications and prosecuting them in the U.S. Patent Office and internationally, litigating patent, trademark and other IP cases, drafting and negotiating license, joint development, acquisition, merger and other IP focused agreements, patent portfolio management, and conducting IP due diligence in the full range of corporate transactions. Mr. Falcon holds a B.S. in Material Science and Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University, where he specialized in ceramics, polymers, metals, or electronic and photonic materials (EPM). He is practiced in the properties and processing of engineering materials, metallurgy, ceramic and polymer synthesis, material characterization, polymer rheology, principles of crystal chemistry applied to structures, crystallography, mold design, and polymer manufacturing. Examples of Joe's work in the intellectual property arena include: · Assisted an industry leader in enforcing trademark rights against foreign companies distributing into the United States. · Conducted patent due diligence in several large scale acquisitions of international companies. · Prepared legal opinions of product clearance to clear manufacturing parts for sale. · Prepared ex parte and inter parties reexamination of patent asserted in litigation.
