Practice/Industry Group Overview
Patent Attorneys on "Defense Hot List"
Kaye Scholer was named to The National Law Journal's "Defense Hot List" for 2005, 2006 and 2007, and is the only law firm to be listed all three years since the Hot List's inception in 2005.
The Defense Hot List recognizes "law firms that have done exemplary, cutting-edge defense work." The National Law Journal cites that Kaye Scholer has made a habit of prevailing for "defendants facing massive financial exposure, and in setting trial strategies adopted in subsequent litigation."
Our recent successes are only a few examples of Kaye Scholer's long history of protecting our clients in high-stakes litigation. The firm was a pioneer among large general practice firms when it began doing patent and intellectual property counseling and litigation in the mid-1970s. Today, our Patent Litigation Group is distinguished by the combination of its members' backgrounds in science and technology with their training in jury and bench trials, litigating and counseling. Our patent attorneys have taught patent, licensing and antitrust law at Columbia University School of Law and New York University Law School.
