In Memoriam: Keith R. McCrea
August 14, 1947-September 5, 2014
It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of our partner and friend, Keith McCrea, following a long battle with cancer.
Keith practiced law in the District of Columbia for more than 40 years and spent nearly 25 of those years as a member of Sutherland's Energy, Environmental & Commodities Practice Group, advising clients in the rapidly changing fields of natural gas, electric power and renewable energy. Keith played an integral role in restructuring the natural gas and electric markets in California, which lead to changes in those industries across the United States. He also had extensive experience in governmental investigations and in litigated matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the U.S. Courts of Appeal.
Keith's family requests that donations be made in support of research efforts to eradicate melanoma. Donations may be made in memory of Keith McCrea and in support of Dr. Evan Lipson's research at Johns Hopkins Medicine, care of Dina Mallis Klicos, Kimmel Cancer Center Development Office, 740 E. Pratt Street, Suite 1700, Baltimore, MD 21202 (or at https://secure.jhu.edu/form/kimmel ).
The family will receive family and friends at Keith's farm (1349 Sugarloaf Mountain Road, Dickerson, Maryland) on Saturday, September 13, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., with remarks at 3 p.m.
