Practice/Industry Group Overview

The Public Finance practice serves public entities from cities, counties, school districts, hospitals, public utility authorities to other governmental and non-profit institutions in all areas of finance. We assist clients with tax-supported and revenue obligations to short-term cash flow borrowings to tax-exempt derivative products, credit enhancements and conduit financings.

The attorneys represented the City of Atlanta in the largest water privatization in US history and continue to represent the City in the upgrade of its water and sewer systems and the expansion of Hartsfield Jackson Airport in Atlanta.

We have also acted as bond counsel in conduit financings in over 15 states for non-governmental entities involved in the transportation, industrial, commercial, healthcare, housing and educational sectors. The attorneys frequently draft and consult with respect to public finance-related legislation proposed by the Georgia General Assembly.
