Practice Capabilities
In 2007, a group of prominent attorneys and professionals with significant experience in land use, environmental compliance and regulatory affairs joined Loeb & Loeb’s national Real Estate Department in Los Angeles. The group brought with it a reputation of respect from clients; elected officials; local and state lobbyists; and members of the various zoning boards and commissions in cities, towns and counties across the state. These relationships define Loeb & Loeb’s Land Use and Regulatory Affairs Group and are invaluable in helping to navigate the maze of regulations across jurisdictional lines and in allowing the group to provide added value to clients, especially in those matters that require expedited resolution or multiparty attention and disposition.
The group pursues matters with determined resolve, looking for solutions and results in even the toughest, most protracted cases. Our attorneys have cultivated nonadversarial relationships of mutual respect with environmental groups and other parties often opposed to our clients’ interests. Our negotiating skills and active involvement in community outreach activities give us a unique advantage in knowing the trends, regulations, roadblocks and detours that we need to address on behalf of our clients. The Land Use and Regulatory Affairs Group provides representation to real estate developers and builders; hospitals and medical centers; stadium authorities; entertainment studios; utilities and energy companies; industrial and manufacturing concerns; private and public investor groups; and individuals.
Our clients' interests represent a wide spectrum of projects. These may include office complexes; mixed-use projects; master planned communities; residential construction; landfill development; sports stadiums; motion picture production facilities; fuel pipelines; highway, road and bridge construction; utility plants; and distribution and storage facilities.
While the majority of projects are located in California, the clients we represent are not confined to the state. Many are based in other parts of the country and around the world. The addition of the Land Use and Regulatory Affairs practice provides clients of all Loeb & Loeb offices - not just our Los Angeles office - the confidence of dealing with trusted counsel familiar with their business. This allows a seamless approach in dealing with matters involving existing California-based real estate interests as well as valuable insight for clients seeking to expand or invest in property located in the state.
