Matthieu Rheault is a partner in the firm's Business Law Group in Montréal. He practices in the areas of corporate and commercial law and securities law, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures, partnerships and corporate reorganizations.
Mr. Rheault has been involved in numerous Canadian and cross-border transactions. His recent experience includes the following transactions:
· the merger of Ecopia BioSciences Inc. with Caprion Pharmaceuticals Inc. and related transactions (acted for Ecopia BioSciences Inc.);
· the acquisition by Everlink Payment Services Inc. of the principal Canadian electronic switching assets of CGI Group Inc. for approximately CAN$28 million (acted for CGI Group Inc.);
· the sale of the principal assets of CGI Group Inc.'s wholly-owned subsidiary, Keyfacts Enterprises Canada Inc., to Garda World Security Corporation, valued at CAN$3.5 million (acted for CGI Group Inc.); and
· various private equity investments, including Canada / U.S. exchangeable share structure investments.
Mr. Rheault received his bachelor degree in civil law from the Université de Sherbrooke in 1999 and his bachelor degree in common law from Queen's University in 2000. He was called to the Québec bar in 2003.
