Michael joined Owen Bird as an associate in the Civil Litigation Group in 2002 and became a Shareholder of the firm in January of 2008. Michael is active within the firm, serving as the Chair of the Associates and Articling Committee. Michael has a wide range of experience in many areas of civil litigation including: expropriation of real property; corporate/commercial litigation; estate litigation; and enforcement of foreign judgments. Michael has appeared in the British Columbia Court of Appeal, British Columbia Supreme Court, British Columbia Provincial Court, the Federal Court of Canada, and at arbitrations, mediations, and discoveries.
Michael completed a B.A. with a major in Political Science and a minor in Economics at UBC before completing his LLB at the University of British Columbia. His previous employment experience included eight years working with Save-On-Foods and two seasons as a manager at a berry processing facility.
Outside the office Michael enjoys all sports but is currently working on honing his golf skills. He is also an avid "Monopoly" player and a huge hockey fan.
