Neil Markson has specialized in a broad array of sophisticated real estate transactions throughout his legal career. He represents local, regional and national clients in condominium development and conversion projects, shopping mall and strip center development, retail and office leasing, construction issues and multi and single family residential development, including affordable housing (40B) and age-restricted projects. As an investor in commercial real estate himself, Mr. Markson understands the business side of complex commercial real estate issues and the importance of delivering cost-effective expertise. He also has extensive experience in corporate law and estate planning.
Representative Matters & Significant Transactions
· Conversion and creation of over 5000 condominium units throughout New England, ranging from ground-up construction to major renovations to as-is conversions
· Representation of landlords and tenants in the negotiation, renegotiation and buyout of "big box" and anchor tenants, including BJ's, Lowe's, Target, Stop & Shop, Hannaford Bros., Shaw's and Whole Foods
· Successful restructuring of troubled debt and equity interests in a 20 property assemblage
· Representation of largest home health care provider/certified home health agency in Massachusetts
· Creation of significant over 55 and affordable housing projects in Massachusetts
