Paul R. Sweeny

Paul Sweeny is a Civil Litigation Specialist who is known for his ability to build consensus and develop relationships leading to a successful outcome for his many clients. He is able to focus on the underlying problems, articulate the issues, and craft appropriate solutions. In defending well over 100 professional negligence claims, Paul has appeared before the Court of Appeal and Divisional Court and has proved himself to be a strong advocate who enjoys a reputation for excellence with both the Bench and Bar.

Paul has been recognized by his peers as one of the Best Lawyers in Canada in the areas of legal malpractice and corporate commercial litigation.

A longtime member, and enthusiastic supporter, of the Ontario Bar Association, Paul has been a member of Council since 2002, and is currently the First Vice-President of the OBA. He served as a Director of The Advocates' Society from 2006 through 2009 and is a Past President of the Hamilton Medical-Legal Society. For eight successful years Paul has chaired the Legal Sector Committee for the annual United Way fundraising campaign in Hamilton and Burlington.
