Biography

Attorney Wellman is a North Carolina State Bar Board Certified Specialist in both State and Federal Law. Only 3.9% of North Carolina attorneys gain this certification in their area of concentration.

Since beginning with the Guilford County Public Defender’s office in 2007, Attorney Wellman has represented hundreds of clients facing criminal charges in the Triad. Attorney Wellman is a fixture in courthouses in Greensboro, High Point, and surrounding counties, tirelessly advocating for Defendants charged with anything from traffic offenses and DWIs to felonies such as violent assaults, robberies, and drug trafficking. Attorney Wellman has litigated cases in North Carolina District and Superior Courts, as well as the U.S. Middle District of North Carolina and the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Attorney Wellman is an active member and former president of the Greensboro Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Attorney Wellman stands ready to lend his skills in the courtroom to ensure that his clients receive quality representation no matter the charge.
