Biography

Aaron Chee Yong Qin advises sponsors and their investment funds on fund formation and structuring matters. He represents sponsors in the establishment of funds across multiple asset classes, including private equity, real estate, venture capital and fund of funds, utilizing various structures including limited partnerships and variable capital companies. He has also been involved in the setting up of separately managed accounts and co-investment vehicles.

Aaron counsels fund sponsors on all aspects of fund formation, from initial structuring through investor negotiations and closing. He assists sponsors with secondary transfers, carried interest restructuring, and ongoing fund operations. His practice includes helping sponsors navigate regulatory requirements for fund establishment in Singapore.

On the investor side, Aaron represents pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, financial institutions, insurance companies, family offices, corporate investors and fund of funds in their fund investments across various asset classes, including private equity buyout funds, venture capital funds, and real estate funds. He advises these investors on investment terms, side letter negotiations, and co-investment arrangements.
