Biography

Abigayle Jewell Theilmann was born and raised in Arlington, Kentucky. Her father built his career at a paper mill, where he now serves as an operations manager. Her mother’s career has included nursing, teaching future healthcare professionals in high school, and, most recently, working in the administration of a dermatology office. From them, she learned the importance of hard work and perseverance, lessons that continue to guide her today.

Abigayle attended Carlisle County High School in Bardwell, Kentucky. Her interest in law began when she took part in the Governor’s Scholars Program, where a mock trial first sparked her passion for advocacy.

At the University of Kentucky, she was awarded a four-year Presidential Scholarship and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Writing, Rhetoric, and Digital Studies, consistently earning Dean’s List honors. She also participated in the UK BLUE Program, an accelerated track allowing her to begin law school coursework while completing her undergraduate studies.

At the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law, Abigayle distinguished herself both academically and in advocacy. She served as Vice President of the Trial Advocacy Board and co-president of the Bankruptcy Moot Court team. She won first place twice in UK’s Mock Trial competitions, competed nationally in the Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition, and earned CALI Awards in Litigation Skills and Products Liability.

During law school, Abigayle gained practical experience working with the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, a plaintiff’s firm in Paducah, and a Lexington-based law firm. Her work included assisting with complex multi-district litigation, conducting legal research, preparing for hearings and client meetings, and supporting attorneys across a variety of practice areas.

She lives in Lexington with her husband, Matthew, a medical student at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, and their goldendoodle, Luka. She is a supporter of UK athletics, an active member of Porter at Jessamine Station Baptist Church, and enjoys hiking, golf, and learning the Italian language. She looks forward to growing her practice and serving Kentuckians in the years ahead.
