Biography

Albert Dale Clary, a partner at Long Law Firm, devotes the majority of his practice to construction law and often represents architects and engineers in professional liability matters. He also counts developers, construction firms, and public agencies among his clients. Clients' disputes may concern projects with relatively modest costs up to those worth several million dollars.

Dale, who is the manager of the Long Law Firm's litigation group, also handles construction and business litigation cases. He manages other attorneys and paralegals within the firm.

Since he was admitted to the Louisiana bar in 1979, Dale's career has primarily been devoted to construction disputes. He has broad experience in technical matters in document-intensive cases. Because construction litigation can be both expensive and unnecessary for arriving at a consensus, Dale began to look into early mediation and other early settlement approaches. He is now an expert in Alternative Dispute Resolution and a certified arbitrator. He has served as counsel on over 250 professional liability, construction litigation, and personal injury cases using ADR and as an arbitrator or mediator in approximately 40 disputes. Dale also serves on a number of mediation panels as a member of the American Arbitration Association.

Early in his career, Dale clerked for Judge Frank Foil on the 19th Judicial District Court in East Baton Rouge Parish and worked as an associate and then partner for Franklin, Moore & Walsh in Baton Rouge before joining Long Law Firm in 1995. He has always been interested in government, laws, and politics, having served on student governments in high school and college. He attended Louisiana State University, where received his undergraduate degree in psychology in 1975 and his Juris Doctorate in 1979. Dale is admitted to all the bars of the federal courts sitting in Louisiana and practices throughout Louisiana.
