Alec Leland Baker

Alec Baker's path to criminal defense started on the other side. Since 2019, Alec lived in courtrooms, and for six years worked as a prosecutor. That job taught him the playbook, how the State investigates, frames the story, and applies pressure to get a result. It also showed him the system’s blind spots. He left because he saw too many people treated like case numbers and too many lives harmed by a process that doesn’t always feel fair. Today, Alec brings that experience to his work, where he defends people facing the full force of the State of Indiana. He grew up moving around the country before settling in Southern Indiana and graduating from Castle High School in Newburgh. He went to Indiana University Bloomington and earned his law degree from IU’s McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis. His casework has ranged from minor DNR violations to major drug trafficking, murders, and violent felonies. He has tried cases before judges and juries, challenged questionable evidence, and cross-examined officers. Alec is direct with clients about the risks, and he fights hard to protect their freedom, reputation, and future.
