Alyssa L Cannizzaro

Since joining Cohen Clair in 2023, Alyssa Cannizzaro has exclusively focused her practice on matrimonial and family law, including prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, spousal support, child support, custody and visitation, and equitable distribution.

Ms. Cannizzaro received her B.A. magna cum laude from Columbia University in 2015 and her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2021. During law school, she served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Colleen McMahon of the United States District Court, Southern District of New York. She was also the senior editor of the Journal of Law & Public Affairs and received a certificate in business management from The Wharton School. She began her legal career at Morrison & Foerster LLP as an associate representing financial institutions in complex commercial real estate transactions.

Ms. Cannizzaro was selected by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Family Law in 2025 and 2026. In 2026, she was named a New York Wise Woman by the National Organization of Italian American Women and honored for her professional achievements and contributions. She serves as Co-Chair of the Reproductive Rights Committee of the New York Women’s Bar Association and is a member of the LGBTQ+ Committee of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York.
