Biography

Ama Aligwekwe is of counsel to Aguwa & Metu, P.C. He holds a Bachelor of laws (Honors) degree from University of Nigeria, Barrister at law (Honors) degree from the Nigeria Law School and a Masters in business administration from the Federal University of Technology Owerri, Nigeria with majors in project and financial management.

He is admitted to the New York Bar. He is also admitted to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor. He has over twenty years consumer and commercial banking experience, specializing in financial law, compliance, consumer and commercial lending, credit risk management, portfolio management, and business development. He has worked for AllStates Trust Bank and United Bank for Africa, where he participated in the structuring of multi-billion dollar portfolios in syndicated lending, loans and credit lines to blue chip and multinational companies.

Mr. Aligwekwe advises Aguwa & Metu, P.C. on business development and assists corporate clients on a variety of financial and project management assignments.
