Amanda Khiterman is a dedicated
attorney who specializes in family law and holds the prestigious
designation of Certified Family Law Specialist. With the majority of
her legal experience focused on family law, Ms. Khiterman is a
passionate advocate for her clients. She has handled a wide range of
family law cases, from routine matters such as support and custody,
to complex issues like move away and relocation cases. She has
successfully represented clients in obtaining and defending Domestic
Violence and Civil Harassment Restraining Orders. Ms. Khiterman's
litigation experience includes trying numerous cases and handling
multi-day trials. In addition to her proficiency in litigation, she
has also worked as a mediator and strongly believes in alternative
dispute resolution methods.
Being
bilingual in Russian and English, Ms. Khiterman effectively utilizes
her language skills to better serve her clients. Before co-founding
PLBK, she achieved recognition and success as a senior associate at a
prominent family law firm in San Diego. Ms. Khiterman is licensed to
practice law in California, New York, and New Jersey.
Originally
from Brooklyn, New York, Ms. Khiterman is a first-generation American
who possesses a strong work ethic that fuels her tireless advocacy
for her clients. She graduated Cum Laude from the University of
Massachusetts, Amherst, where she earned a B.A. in Legal Studies with
a minor in Judaic Studies, as well as a second B.A. in Communication
with a minor in Film. Ms. Khiterman obtained her J.D. from California
Western School of Law and was published shortly after graduation by
Oxford Press in American National Biography. She has received several
awards recognizing her community service and pro bono work, including
the State Bar of California Wiley W. Manuel Certificate for Pro Bono
Legal Services.
Outside
of her professional commitments, Ms. Khiterman enjoys spending time
with her loved ones, volunteering for worthy causes, and traveling to
new destinations.
