Amber M. Carter is an associate with the firm where she primarily practices with the litigation practice group.

Amber began her career at the Department of Natural Resources Commissioner’s Office in Atlanta, spending the majority of her time at DNR as the Deputy Director of Public and Governmental Affairs. While advocating for DNR’s public affairs priorities, she attended law school part-time and ultimately received her Juris Doctorate from Georgia State University’s College of Law. Upon graduation, Amber left state government to work for a firm representing public safety personnel in civil and criminal matters.

At Gilbert Harrell Amber combines her experience with governmental affairs and her environmental background to assist clients with their matters in litigation, while also supporting the Estate Planning and Corporate practice area.

Originally from Villa Rica, Georgia, Amber resides in Jesup with her husband Ryan, their son Ford, and labradoodle Jake. The Carters are members of Jesup Church of God where they oversee the Hope Pantry ministry department which feeds hundreds of local families monthly. Amber is a Court Appointed Special Advocate with CASA Glynn where she advocates for the interests of children in custody disputes. Furthermore, Amber enjoys designing embroidery and monogramming clothing and accessories in her spare time.
