Amrit K. Dhaliwal is a member of the Litigation Practice in Greenberg Traurig’s Orange County office. She has deep experience representing companies in multi-party litigation in complex cases in federal and state courts in the areas of real estate, life sciences, toxic tort, products liability, and general liability. Amrit handles all aspects of case management, including pre-trial work, discovery, motions for summary judgment, settlements, depositions, and trial preparation.

Experience: Representative Matters: Judgment entered in favor of a national real estate investment firm that had divested its interest in a landmark downtown Los Angeles office tower, defeating claims for breach of contract and conversion brought by a former commercial tenant seeking to recover a six-figure deposit following a multi-party dispute over lease obligations post-sale.; Summary adjudication granted in favor of a global real estate and lifestyle company in a billion-dollar partnership dispute involving a marquee California development project. Plaintiff claimed an enforceable joint venture and sought over $1 billion in damages. The court dismissed all primary causes of action on summary adjudication. While the motion was pending, plaintiff was granted leave to add a new claim, which later settled.; Dismissal of pharmaceutical manufacturer based on preemption in federal court personal injury product liability action involving ingestion of generic brand drug.; Dismissal of hip implant manufacturer in personal injury product liability action.; Dismissal of a product packager from a series of multi-plaintiff cases venued in both state and federal courts involving allegations of bodily injuries and death claimed to have been caused by ingestion of a dietary supplement.; Judgment entered in favor of manufacturer client following two rounds of dispositive motions. While motion for summary judgment was pending, plaintiff was granted leave to amend her complaint to add new causes of action. A demurrer was filed on behalf of manufacturer client and sustained by the court, without leave to amend.; Dismissal of a hernia mesh manufacturer based on pre-emption and learned intermediary doctrine.; Judgment entered in favor of manufacturer client in a product liability case where the plaintiff sued for personal injuries allegedly sustained as a result of exposure to a medical device.; Summary judgment granted in favor of medical device manufacturer in product liability action. Judgment entered in favor of manufacturer of Class III medical device on grounds that claims were preempted by federal law.; Summary judgment granted in favor of medical device manufacturer in product liability action.; Dismissal of pharmaceutical manufacturer for lack of personal jurisdiction over claims brought by out-of-state residents related to the marketing of heart medication.; Dismissal of manufacturer following hearing on a motion to quash for lack of personal jurisdiction in claim brought by a plaintiff relating to the distribution of stone products to his employer.; Dismissal of a medical device manufacturer in a personal injury product liability and fraud action where plaintiff sought damages related to a spinal fusion procedure.; The above representations were handled by Ms. Dhaliwal prior to her joining Greenberg Traurig, LLP.; Internships: Judicial Extern, Hon.
