She graduated cum laude from the University of Delaware, where she was a member of the Honors Program, a goalkeeper for the Women's Soccer Team, and a Cadet in the Army R.O.T.C. program. In May 2004, Ms. Saglimbene was commissioned as an Officer in the United States Army and was granted an educational delay to attend law school. She graduated cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law in 2007, and was admitted to practice law in Maine in 2007 and Massachusetts in 2008. From 2007-2011, Ms. Saglimbene served on active duty in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General Corps. Her first duty station was with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where she served as a Legal Assistance Attorney for soldiers, retirees, and their families until she deployed to Afghanistan as the 82nd's Detention Operations Judge Advocate. As the Detention Operations Judge Advocate, one of Ms. Saglimbene's responsibilities was to serve as Combined Joint Task Force -- 82nd's liaison to the International Committee of the Red Cross for all detention matters. She was deployed for 13 months and was awarded the Bronze Star and the Joint Meritorious Achievement Metal for her contributions to the mission. Upon returning to the United States, Ms. Saglimbene was stationed at Fort Meade, Maryland, as a Trial Defense Attorney. She defended members of the Army facing criminal charges under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, administrative punishments, and separations from the military. Ms. Saglimbene is currently a Judge Advocate in the Army Reserves and is serving as a Trial Defense Attorney for the 154th. She is Airborne and Air Assault qualified.
