Andrea Ilana Keith

Andrea Keith's academic journey led her to The George Washington University, where she attained her B.A. in political science and criminal justice. Subsequently, she pursued her legal education at The Whittier School of Law, distinguishing herself by securing the Dean Merit Scholar Award. Her commitment to justice and advocacy was further demonstrated through her pursuit of a Fellowship in Children's Rights, her leadership as President of the Moot Court and Honors Board, and her consistent excellence in a diverse range of coursework. A significant highlight during her law school years was her externship with the Honorable Judge William Ferguson of the Ninth District Court of Appeal.

Following her graduation, Andrea embarked on a career in public defense, making her mark through numerous jury trials spanning misdemeanors and felonies, including a specialized focus on cases involving sexually violent predators. Transitioning from public defense, she delved into the realm of appellate law, becoming an esteemed member of the panels for the Second, Third, and Fifth District Court of Appeal, as well as the California Supreme Court. Her legal acumen is evident through the publication of her Court of Appeal cases and her recent accomplishment of overturning a murder conviction via a successful habeas petition.

With an extensive span of over 17 years in the field of criminal law, Andrea is renowned for her resolute determination and adept utilization of her wealth of knowledge and experience to secure exceptional outcomes. Collaborating with her close friend and colleague Claire, she co-founded Keith & Highland Law, unified by a shared commitment to serving clients with unwavering passion, empathy, competence, and insight. Noteworthy triumphs underline Andrea's career, including her instrumental role in achieving misdemeanor resolutions for felony cases carrying life sentences in Santa Barbara. Additionally, she holds the distinction of being the first attorney in Ventura County to secure an alternative to jail in a sexual assault case.

Beyond her legal accomplishments, Andrea's upbringing in Los Angeles, where her father excelled as a family law attorney, instilled in her a lifelong passion for legal practice. She enjoys a blissful 12-year marriage to Eric, her husband, with whom she is raising three beautiful children.
