Andrea Taylor is an energy and title attorney with extensive experience guiding oil and gas operators, midstream companies, and private investors through complex land, title, and acquisition matters across the Appalachian Basin. Her practice centers on title examination and curative work, purchase-and-sale due diligence, leasehold acquisition, and the negotiation of the agreements that underpin energy development, including joint operating agreements, mineral leases, pipeline agreements, and right-of-way easements.

Ms. Taylor has worked as a title attorney supporting operator clients across the basin in review of title abstracts, opinion drafting, and advising on curative measures and merger-related asset review. While employed by operators, she partnered with general counsel on competitor acquisitions, resolved ownership disputes, and directed leasing, easement, and division order work to keep operations on schedule. Working as a midstream project manager, she directed land acquisition for gas pipeline and waterline routes and advised on construction risk and regulatory compliance.

Ms. Taylor’s background also includes mineral due diligence and asset review on behalf of a national insurance client, where she evaluated seller records against representations and warranties in advance of major purchase-and-sale closings, advising risk potential and remedial strategies. Earlier in her career, she negotiated sponsored research agreements for a major public research university, reviewing and negotiating contract terms in compliance with federal funding and intellectual property regulations.

In addition to legal practice, Ms. Taylor has comprehensive field experience collaborating with landowners, engineers, mineral asset managers, and operations teams to facilitate permitting and infrastructure development, while helping clients meet operational and business objectives. She has contributed to the region’s shale gas production industry in these various capacities since 2009.

Background

Ms. Taylor earned her Juris Doctor from the West Virginia University College of Law in 2007 and her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Environmental Policy from Queens University of Charlotte in 2004.
