Biography

Andrea Smith is an associate attorney in the San Diego office of WSHB. She handles complex civil litigation, with particular interests in product liability, property management and tenant litigation, and hospitality.

Andrea attended San Diego State University, earning her B.A. in English while competing as a NCAA Division I athlete as a softball pitcher. She graduated law school cum laude where she focused on Intellectual Property and was the recipient of the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Music Law.

While studying law, Andrea clerked at a firm specializing in Workers’ Compensation, and she worked as a contracts manager in the biotechnology space, where she negotiated various agreements with academic and industry partners to support technology transfer and commercialization of pharmaceutical drug development while protecting intellectual property rights and upholding NIH compliance requirements. This experience equipped her to effectively seek resolutions and litigate matters with precise attention to detail.
