Biography

Andrea Pleimling Smith, a partner at Goldstein, Buckley, Cechman, Rice & Purtz, P.A., focuses her practice on personal injury litigation and insurance disputes. Born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin, Ms. Smith received her undergraduate degree from Edgewood College (summa cum laude) and graduated from Marquette University Law School, where she was a merit scholar. While in law school, she served as the president of the Business Law Society, interning at both the Wisconsin Department of Justice and Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee. As an undergraduate, Ms. Smith studied Central European History at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic. She also lived and worked in Koblenz, Germany, prior to attending law school. She is proficient in German.

In 2010, Mrs. Smith was admitted to practice in all state courts in Wisconsin and Florida, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Prior to joining our firm, she practiced in the Fort Myers area and gained litigation experience in a variety of areas. Mrs. Smith is a member of the Calusa Inns of Court, Lee County Association for Women Lawyers, Lee County Bar Association and Florida Justice Association. In 2018, Florida Gov. Rick Scott appointed Ms. Smith to serve on the 20th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission.

Andrea’s husband, Christopher J. Smith, is also a partner with the firm. Andrea and Chris live in Fort Myers and enjoy outdoor activities and spending time with their family in Southwest Florida, as well as their dogs Boo and Thunder, both of which are rescues from animal shelters.
