Biography

Andrew Nagel is an associate attorney at Carr Maloney P.C. He focuses his practice on Professional Liability, Complex Litigation, Employment and Labor Law, Construction Law and Product Liability.

In his time at Carr Maloney P.C., Andrew has taken a keen interest in Cybersecurity and Privacy Law. In addition to representing clients in cases involving complex cyber issues, Andrew recently attended the 2nd Annual Cybersecurity Law and Compliance Conference hosted by the American Conference Institute.

Prior to joining the firm, Andrew was a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Nelson W. Rupp, Jr., Associate Judge for the Circuit Court of Montgomery County, Maryland. Over the course of his clerkship, Andrew prepared and wrote bench memoranda for criminal motions and sentencing hearings. He also researched and drafted opinions for complex civil motions and in banc panel reviews.

After completing his judicial clerkship, Andrew served as an Assistant State’s Attorney for Montgomery County, Maryland for four years. While working at the State’s Attorney’s Office, Andrew prosecuted over one hundred bench trials across a variety of criminal and incarcerable traffic offenses (including misdemeanor assaults, burglaries, credit card and financial fraud, drug possession, DUIs, indecent exposure, felony thefts, motor vehicle thefts, and gun offenses). In addition to bench trials, Andrew worked on a number of complex felony cases. While on the District Court Appeals Team, he successfully prosecuted several jury trials.

Andrew earned his law degree from University of Maryland Carey School of Law. During law school, Andrew was a member of the National Trial Team, competing each semester across the United States. Additionally, he was a Rule 19 Student-Attorney with the Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office for nine months. As a Student-Attorney he successfully prosecuted a Second Degree Murder in the Juvenile Court. Andrew served as a judicial intern for The Honorable Richard D. Bennett of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. Maryland Law awarded Andrew with The Order of Barristers, presented to the school’s top advocates.

Andrew graduated from Fairfield University with a degree in finance.
