Andrew H. Maass

EMPLOYMENT / LABOR LAW /LITIGATION/ PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY LITIGATION:

Mr. Maass is a civil trial lawyer with a focus on wrongful discharge/employment, ski/recreation, personal injury and professional malpractice litigation. He tries cases to verdict each year. Mr. Maass’ practice includes representing the ski industry (resorts, manufacturers and associations) in all matters of legal practice including personal injury litigation, real estate and development litigation, contracts, risk management and employment. A substantial portion of Mr. Maass’ practice also consists of counseling employers and management on employment and labor issues. Mr. Maass has experience litigating and advising employers on issues pertaining to union avoidance, collective bargaining, mediation and arbitration, and avoiding wrongful discharge claims. He frequently conducts employment-related training for businesses (i.e. FMLA/PFLA, ADA, sexual harassment, RIFS/downsizing). He is an approved trainer for equal employment/discrimination matters by the Civil Rights Unit of the Vermont Attorney General’s Office. Mr. Maass is also active in professional liability and general litigation. He has successfully and annually tried numerous cases to jury verdict in state and federal court for all areas of his practice.
