Biography

Andrew Silverstein is an experienced attorney focusing primarily on corporate finance, structured finance and asset securitization. He represents banks and financial institutions in a wide variety of financing transactions, including structured finance, project finance, asset securitization, secured and unsecured loan financing.

Andrew has worked with a diverse range of clients from industries such as energy, transportation, and real estate, and has wide-ranging experience in representing corporate trustees, servicers, subservicers, collateral agents, escrow agents, issuing and paying agents, administrative agents as well as other service providers. In his representation of international and domestic banks, financial institutions and market service providers, Andrew has developed, through his years of practice, deep knowledge of numerous structures and asset classes including, domestic and cross-border securitizations of credit cards, stranded assets, royalty payments, medical, trade, aircraft and engine leasing and other equipment financing, student loan and automobile receivables, consumer and small business marketplace lending, residential and commercial mortgages, and specialty receivables.

In addition, Andrew’s experience extends to diversified payment rights structures, reinsurance trust and catastrophe bond structures, capital markets bond issuances, project and infrastructure finance transactions, as well as secured and unsecured senior and subordinate loan financing and second-lien financing transactions. His representation of market participants, both domestically and internationally, extends to all types of investment vehicles, including structured investment vehicles, CDO/CLO vehicles and commercial paper conduits.

Additionally, Andrew has a great deal of experience in connection with the representation of trustees, administrative agents, collateral agents, lenders and other service providers in various bankruptcy, liquidation, rehabilitation, default and workout situations, both domestically and cross-border. More specifically, Andrew has taken the lead on several major bankruptcy workouts and restructurings in the area of asset and mortgage-backed securitizations, structured investment vehicles, CDOs, student loan securitizations, aircraft, shipping and other equipment financings, and project finance, as well as restructurings and bankruptcies in respect of operating companies.
