Biography

Anthony C. Acampora is the Partner-In-Charge of the Firm and the chairman of its Litigation Group.

When not managing the Firm, Anthony handles complex commercial litigation in the state and federal courts and manages the attorneys and cases in the Litigation Group. He began his career with a large New York City firm primarily representing banks, factors, and a wealth of other financial institutions. During the last 30 years, his practice has steadily expanded to include a wide variety of businesses and business owners across every market sector. Anthony has represented and advised business clients in virtually every type of commercial dispute. Whether it is during the early stages of litigation, at trial, or in the state and federal appellate courts, Anthony often enables our clients to realize results that other attorneys have deemed to be unattainable.

Anthony’s advocacy has resulted in the recovery by our clients of hundreds of millions of dollars. For example, his substantial skills in the areas of accountants’ malpractice and directors’ and officers’ liability claims alone have provided our clients with multimillion dollar recoveries. Anthony has also saved our clients equally impressive sums. When the sellers of a retail business were faced with a suit to recover the $80 million purchase price, Anthony quickly and efficiently brought the case to a successful and completely satisfactory conclusion.

Equally adept in the boardroom as he is in the courtroom, our business clients turn to Anthony for advice concerning corporate governance, board of director liability and responsibility, and business succession issues. Anthony works closely with the Business Law Group regarding the litigation implications of deal structure. He advises the Firm’s other practice groups when litigation issues present themselves.

Anthony is the former statewide Chair of the New York State Bar Association Continuing Legal Education Seminar on Judgment Enforcement, and is the former local Chair for the Continuing Legal Education Seminar on Basics of Bankruptcy. During the 2014 U.S. Open, Anthony received the City Parks Foundation’s Vitas Geruliatis Community Service Award from tennis legend, Billie Jean King. Anthony is currently on the Board of Directors of the Mary Jane Casillo Foundation, the Acampora Concussion Awareness Foundation, the Gulls Amateur Hockey Association, and the Muskegon Lumberjacks, a franchise member of the United States Hockey League. His charity work also included a board position for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Long Island Chapter, for which he acted as Chair of the Governance Committee.
