Ashley Theobald

Ashley Theobald attended the University of South Dakota Knudson School of Law in Vermillion, South Dakota where she received her Juris Doctor degree in 2023. While at law school, Ashley was a member and president of the Trial Team where she competed in five competitions and received the Horton Advocate of Excellence Award. Ashley was also a staff writer on Volume 67 of the South Dakota Law Review and managing editor of Volume 68. She was a research assistant for Professor Laura Rose during her final year at law school, and served on the disciplinary committee within the law school and was the secretary for the Agricultural Law Society. Ashley interned with Gunderson, Palmer, Nelson & Ashmore, LLP her first summer in law school, completed an externship with the 6th Judicial Circuit during her second year, and interned at May Adam during her second summer of law school.

Ashley was born and raised in Fort Pierre, South Dakota, graduating from T.F. Riggs High School in 2016. She then went on to attend South Dakota State University where she competed on the Swimming and Diving team and received bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Agricultural Leadership with minors in Economics and Legal Studies.
