Franks is an excellent source of knowledge of the probation system, having been a state probation officer before becoming an attorney. However, in my only experience with him, he misjudged the strength of a homicide case against his client, and urged the client to plead and accept fifteen yeas in prison for a crime he did not commit. The client discharged attorney Medina, obtained different counsel, and was acquitted at a jury trial, largely based on the Evidence of an alibi plus a shaky case. Read less
