Biography

Garen Dodge has dedicated his career to assisting clients in addressing complex labor and employment issues with innovative solutions.He has successfully defended a wide array of employers, including Fortune 500 companies in industries such as restaurants and retail. His expertise spans privacy, discrimination, background checks, harassment, wage and hour disputes, and occupational safety and health. Garen's extensive experience in Washington, D.C. includes representing clients before Congress and various federal agencies. He has testified before the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights and served as counsel of record in key U.S. Supreme Court and appellate cases as amicus curiae. Garen began his career as an Attorney-Advisor for the Benefits Review Board at the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of the Secretary.Clients value Garen's ability to leverage his extensive experience and agency relationships to provide creative solutions to their problems. For instance, when a food service client faced an investigation for its pay practices on a government contract, Garen not only defended the client in litigation but also engaged with congressional staff to influence the investigation's outcome.As a trusted advisor, Garen helps companies develop workplace programs on harassment, affirmative action, and substance abuse. He also trains supervisors and employees on effective personnel policies and conducts workplace investigations.

Garen frequently speaks to industry groups on employment topics and has authored or co-authored numerous publications, including the book "Winning the War on Drugs: The Role of Workplace Drug Testing." He has lectured at George Washington University School of Business, Georgetown University, and the University of Denver.
