Mr. Turkel’s litigation and appellate practice includes trials, motion practice, and hearings in metropolitan area State and Federal courts. He litigates in alternative dispute resolution forums such as FINRA, AAA, JAMS, and REBNY. He has drafted and argued appeals before the New York State Supreme Court Appellate Divisions, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and the New York State Court of Appeals for his own matters and on behalf of referring attorneys. From custody, paternity, and support hearings in Family Court, to business litigation in District and Supreme Court, to argument before the highest courts in the region, Mr. Turkel will pursue your claim or defense with persistence, professionalism and respect for your goals.
Mr. Turkel’s transactional practice includes drafting and negotiating prenuptial and postnuptial agreements along with business contracts, such as employment, vendor/vendee, intellectual property, license, and real estate agreements, including leases, and purchase and sale contracts.
Mr. Turkel served as legislative director to New York City Council Member Alan J. Gerson (D1-Lower Manhattan. He was in private practice for 14 years before joining Ballon Stoll PC as a partner. Mr. Turkel is an adjunct professor of clinical law at Brooklyn Law School.
