Barton W. Morris, Jr.

Barton Morris is a Michigan criminal defense trial attorney who approaches every case with a trial-ready mindset. He trained at the Trial Lawyer’s College in Dubois, Wyoming, learning directly from Gerry Spence and a faculty of accomplished courtroom advocates. That training is reinforced by substantial experience in criminal jury trials, giving him the practical judgment needed to defend clients effectively when the consequences are serious. Barton is also a recognized leader in OWI defense, serving as president of the Michigan Association of OWI Attorneys. He contributes to the profession through board service with the Michigan Department of Attorney General’s Marijuana Legal Workgroup, the Trial Lawyer’s College Alumni Association, and the DUI Defense Lawyers Association Justice Foundation. He also teaches other lawyers as faculty for the National College for DUI Defense and the DUI Defense Lawyers Association, and he remains active with the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, including graduating from its National Criminal Defense Trial College in Macon, Georgia. Known among judges, prosecutors, and peers for thorough preparation, Barton fights for clients with the goal of achieving justice—not simply moving cases along with quick pleas.
