Biography

Basma Qazi is an Associate at DeCotiis and a member of the firm's Litigation practice group. Ms. Qazi earned a dual Juris Doctor and Master of Social Work from Rutgers Law School and the Rutgers School of Social Work in 2024. Prior to joining the Firm, she practiced as a general litigation attorney, where she handled a broad range of matters, including election law, data privacy, and corporate contracts. She also gained significant appellate, trial, and regulatory experience during law school through her work with a small law firm and a national trade association.

Ms. Qazi maintains an active presence in the legal community, having served in leadership roles on the executive boards of the Student Bar Association, the Muslim Law Students Association, the South Asian Law Students Association, and the South Asian Bar Association of New Jersey. She is also a Licensed Social Worker, and her clinical training informs her strategic, client-focused approach to advocacy.

Prior to her legal career, Ms. Qazi earned her B.A. from Rutgers University and worked in operations and project management within the education and professional development sectors. Her multidisciplinary background enhances her ability to deliver thoughtful, results-driven counsel. Honors
