Biography

Ben Tandy practices commercial litigation, focusing on complex business disputes, healthcare matters, and entertainment-related cases.

Ben earned his law degree from Belmont University College of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude and was a Dean’s Scholar. Ben received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in his legal writing and employment law courses. During law school, Ben clerked for The Honorable Magistrate Judge Jeffery S. Frensley of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee and Judge Joseph A. Woodruff in the 21st Circuit Court for Williamson County. He also served as the Executive Development and Technology Editor of the Belmont Law Review and was an award-winning member of Belmont’s Moot Court team, earning national recognition for his brief writing. Ben won the 17th Annual Emory Civil Rights and Liberties Moot Court Competition and received a top brief award. Additionally, Ben was a Regional Finalist for both the 2024 and 2025 ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition, earning a top three brief award in 2024. Ben published his note, Deepfakes: The Legal Implications of Identity Misappropriation in the Digital Age, in the Belmont Law Review.

Before joining the firm, Ben provided data warehousing services for a major hospital system based in Franklin, Tennessee and worked in software development and technology consulting for a government agency, giving him a unique perspective on the intersection of business, law, and technology. His background allows him to approach cases with a practical, analytical mindset—translating complex issues into clear, effective solutions for clients.

Originally from Waco, TX, Ben holds a B.B.A. in Management Information Systems from Baylor University.
