Brannon D. Lenard is a litigation attorney whose practice
focuses on maritime and admiralty law, insurance defense, commercial
litigation, transportation claims, premises liability, product liability, and
other complex civil disputes. He represents businesses, insurers, maritime
interests, and transportation companies throughout Louisiana and the Gulf Coast
region.
Brannon has substantial experience handling matters in both
state and federal courts, including claims arising under the Longshore and
Harbor Workers' Compensation Act and the Defense Base Act. He routinely manages
all phases of litigation, including fact investigation, discovery, depositions,
expert coordination, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation. He has
conducted more than seventy depositions involving claimants, physicians,
vocational experts, corporate representatives, and other key witnesses.
Before joining Courington, Kiefer & Ankersen, Brannon
practiced with respected regional defense firms where he handled a broad range
of litigation matters involving maritime operations, insurance coverage,
commercial disputes, construction claims, environmental matters, trucking
accidents, labor and employment issues, and professional liability defense. His
experience includes securing favorable rulings through dispositive motion
practice, evaluating contractual indemnity obligations, and assisting clients in
managing litigation risk efficiently and effectively.
Brannon earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from
Southern University Law Center, graduating in the top five percent of his
class. He completed law school while working full-time, graduating a semester
early. Prior to entering private practice, he gained valuable experience
through judicial clerkships and litigation-focused positions that exposed him
to a wide range of civil and commercial disputes.
