Brendan Berry

Brendan Berry’s path to criminal defense combines education, community-focused work, and years inside the courtroom. He attended Indiana University Bloomington and later graduated from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. During law school, Brendan worked with the Outreach Clinic, assisting former federal inmates with the real-world hurdles of reentry, and later helped instruct the clinic, an experience that strengthened his ability to explain complicated issues in a clear, practical way. He also participated in the Black Law Student Association. Brendan then served as a prosecutor in Marion County, gaining experience across a wide range of cases as he progressed from juvenile assignments to misdemeanors and, eventually, major felonies. As a major felony prosecutor, he often focused on domestic violence-related cases and was involved in building and trying cases that included OVWI, domestic battery, armed robbery, and other offenses. That experience now informs his work as a defense attorney, giving him insight into how prosecutors evaluate evidence and prepare for trial. When he’s away from the office, Brendan likes hunting for his next book at a local shop, keeping up with podcasts, working out, and relaxing with his cats, Smokey and Bandit.
