Biography

Brett Schultz, Esq. is the owner of Schultz Law & Mediation.

Before entering private practice, Mr. Schultz served as an attorney with the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Guardian ad Litem Program in Miami-Dade County, where he advocated for hundreds of abused, neglected, and abandoned children. During that time, the phrase “best interests of the child” took on a profound and personal meaning for him, shaping his commitment to helping individuals and families navigate difficult legal challenges. Building on that foundation, he established the Law Offices of Brett H. Schultz (2006–2022) and subsequently, Schultz Law & Mediation.

Today, Mr. Schultz provides legal representation in complex and often life-changing family law matters, including dissolution of marriage and paternity proceedings, custody disputes, and domestic violence hearings. He is committed to helping clients navigate these challenging situations by listening closely to their goals, assessing all relevant legal factors, and applying efficient, cost-effective strategies to pursue his clients’ objectives.

Mr. Schultz earned his B.A. in Psychology, with Distinction, from the University at Buffalo in 1997, and his Juris Doctor from New York Law School in 2000. He has been a member of the Florida Bar since 2003 and is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Florida, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and all county and circuit courts throughout the state.

In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Schultz is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator and a Certified Florida Guardian ad Litem. He is also a member of the North Dade Bar Association, the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar, the Florida Academy of Professional Mediators, and the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society. He previously served as an attorney with Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc., representing underserved, underprivileged, and indigent individuals, including disabled veterans, families, and children in need.
