Brian F Trainor

Brian F. Trainor is a personal injury trial attorney at Morris & Dewett Injury Lawyers, serving as Managing Attorney of the Covington office. Mr. Trainor concentrates his practice on motor vehicle accidents and personal injury claims, with particular strength in cases against insurance defendants. He served as an Assistant District Attorney and as Legal Advisor and Chief Deputy to the fifth-largest sheriff’s office in Louisiana. That background gives him insight into how claims are built, investigated, and defended. He handles auto accidents, commercial vehicle collisions, and injury claims across North Shore Louisiana and the greater St. Tammany Parish region.

A South Louisiana native born in New Orleans and raised in Slidell, Mr. Trainor graduated from Pope John Paul II High School in 1992, then served in the Louisiana Army National Guard until his Honorable Discharge in 1999. He earned his undergraduate degree from Southeastern Louisiana University and his Juris Doctor, with honors, from Southern University Law Center.

Mr. Trainor began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney for the 22nd Judicial District (St. Tammany Parish), where he tried criminal cases for the state. He then served as Legal Advisor and Deputy Chief of Corrections for the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, and later as Chief Deputy under Sheriff Jack Strain, overseeing the fifth-largest sheriff’s office in Louisiana. He ran for District Attorney in 2014, then founded and operated his own plaintiff practice before joining Morris & Dewett. His progression from prosecutor to law enforcement advisor to plaintiff advocate gives him experience on every side of injury litigation.
