Biography

Brian J. Lamoureux is a Partner with Pannone Lopes Devereaux & O’Gara LLC and a member of the firm’s Litigation, Employment, Cyber Law and Corporate & Business teams. He is also an Assistant Professor of Practice (Business Law) at Providence College, his alma mater.

His extensive practice areas include complex commercial litigation, employment law, construction law, social media law, and creditors’ rights. In addition to being an accomplished business litigator, he is a frequent guest speaker, broadcast commentator, and published author on various legal issues, including cybersecurity, social and digital media, data privacy rights, employment law topics, and the pandemic’s impact on individuals and businesses.

His published work and broadcast appearances on topical issues are extensive. His articles have been published in the Providence Journal, Providence Business News, Lawyers Weekly, and several other local or national publications. His guest appearance as a featured legal commentator have been broadcast on WPRI-TV, WJAR-TV, WPRO-AM, MYRI-TV, and NECN-TV.

An accomplished lawyer, leader, teacher and mentor, Attorney Lamoureux’s speaking engagements are extensive and include presentations before Fortune 150+ executives and thousands of other business and industry leaders, students, employers and human resource professionals. Since 2022, he has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® in multiple practice areas. Earlier in his career, he was honored for his achievements by Providence Business News with a 40 Under Forty award.

As a Providence College Practitioner Faculty member, he created and teaches an MBA-level course called “Digital and Social Media in the Business Environment.” In 2019, he received Providence College’s Excellence in Teaching award.

Attorney Lamoureux graduated from Providence College with a B.A. in Political Science, cum laude. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Rhode Island and earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the Syracuse University College of Law. At the same time, he received a Master of Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. He is qualified to serve as a receiver in Rhode Island Superior Court and is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association.
