Biography

Brian McKeen has devoted more than four decades to representing victims of medical negligence, earning a national reputation for excellence in complex litigation. Since beginning his practice in 1982, he has been recognized as a leading medical malpractice attorney in Michigan, known for his strategic insight, courtroom strength, and relentless pursuit of justice in courts across the country.

Throughout his career, Mr. McKeen has played a prominent leadership role in the legal profession. He has served on the Executive Board of the Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ) and the Board of Governors of the American Association for Justice (AAJ). Within AAJ, he has chaired multiple influential groups, including the Professional Negligence Section, the Medical Negligence Exchange Group, and the Birth Trauma Litigation Group (BTLG). In 2009, he was honored with induction into the Inner Circle of Advocates, one of the most elite recognitions awarded to trial lawyers in the United States.

As the driving force behind McKeen & Associates, Mr. McKeen has led the firm to extraordinary results, achieving some of the most notable verdicts in Michigan history. Highlights include a record-setting $55 million verdict in Hall v. Henry Ford Health System (2001), along with top statewide verdicts in Blazo v. McLaren Regional Medical Center (2002), Lowe v. Henry Ford Health System (2006), and Oppenheim v. Aeneas C. Guiney (2007). These achievements reflect a sustained commitment to excellence and a proven ability to secure life-changing outcomes for clients.
