Brian W. Haynes

Brian Haynes’ practice encompasses insurance coverage litigation, premises liability, personal injury, and toxic tort matters. He has represented major national and regional companies in state and federal court, including prominent insurance and automotive companies. In the area of insurance coverage litigation, he has experience with bad faith, defense and indemnity, and other matters relating to auto, marine, homeowners, and commercial general liability policies.

He has managed discovery, conducted and defended depositions, drafted pleadings and motions at all stages of litigation and participated in mediation and binding arbitration. He has also contributed to briefs while appearing before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.

He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and assists the firm’s clients throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and in the Boston area.Before joining Higgins, Cavanagh & Cooney, Brian practiced at a regional litigation firm headquartered in Boston and clerked for the in-house legal department of a multinational company.

He is a 2005 graduate of the College of William & Mary with a B.A. in history and received his J. D. cum laude from Suffolk University Law School, concentrating with distinction in international law.He served as a law review editor and represented his law school at national and international competitions in trial and appellate advocacy.

Prior to law school, Brian worked in management positions for two of the nation’s largest insurance companies. He joined Higgins, Cavanagh & Cooney as an Associate with the firm’s Litigation Practice Group in 2017.
