Ms. Newsome grew up in Jacksonville, FL and attended the Bolles School. Ms. Newsome attended the University of Alabama where she earned a bachelor's degree in History with a minor in Biology.

Ms. Newsome attended law school as a Vicennial Scholar at Florida Coastal School of Law and obtained her Juris Doctor degree. While in law school, Ms. Newsome served as a Legislator of the Student Bar Association. Ms. Newsome also served as the Secretary of the Christian Legal Society and was on the executive board of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund. While completing her last year of law school, Ms. Newsome clerked for the Honorable Judge Wallace in Duval County.
