Biography

Brooks earned his Bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University in 1996. He then earned a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, California, where he won the American Jurisprudence Award in Personal Injury Law (Torts) for achieving the highest grade. He was also named to Thomas Jefferson’s Dean’s List and the National Dean’s List for outstanding academic performance.

Brooks then spent several years working for a large personal injury law firm where he litigated complex, high value personal injury cases and environmental lawsuits, like the Nitro Dioxin Class Action against Monsanto. Brooks then decided he wanted to focus exclusively on helping individuals injured by negligence. He also saw the need for a personal injury law firm that put clients first; thus, he established West Law Firm with the mission to provide each client excellent service and financial results.

Staying true to this mission year after year has earned Brooks and West Law Firm many client testimonials and a five star client rating. Brooks and West Law Firm have established a winning track record of helping people recover full and fair compensation for their losses after being wrongfully injured at work, in natural gas mining accidents, automobile accidents, on dangerous property, and by negligence.

Brooks is admitted to practice law in a number of state and federal courts including the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals; The State Bar of Georgia, the U.S. District Court, Southern District of West Virginia; the U.S. District Court, Northern District of West Virginia; and the U.S. Federal Court of Appeals, 4th Circuit.

Brooks also enjoys financially supporting and volunteering for numerous charities including the Kanawha Charleston Animal Shelter, Manna Meal, Mission West Virginia, The Carry on Campaign, and other organizations that help children stay active and positively engaged in the community. Brooks loves his work as a personal injury attorney because it gives him the opportunity to help people while supporting his family and community. When not working, Brooks enjoys playing basketball, hiking and spending time with his wife, children and dogs.
