Biography

Mr. VanMeveren is admitted to practice in the State and Federal Courts of Colorado, Wyoming and Arizona. A former insurance defense litigator specializing in medical malpractice, personal injury and bad faith cases, Mr. VanMeveren uses his experience and expertise to obtain just results for victims of negligence. Mr. VanMeveren obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Wyoming and his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Dakota. Mr. VanMeveren served for two years on the Colorado Supreme Court's standing committee on the Rules of Professional Conduct.

He recently completed a six year term on the Eighth Judicial Nominating Commission, which is responsible for the selection of Larimer County District Court Judges. For the past ten years, Mr. VanMeveren has also volunteered his time with the Larimer County Pro Bono and Domestic Relations programs.

When not busy with his law practice, Mr. VanMeveren enjoys working in his community. He worked as a volunteer Board Member and chief legal counsel for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Larimer County for five years. He continues to serve as legal counsel and as an Honorary Board Member for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Larimer County. He continues to volunteer at local running events and acts as race director for the Lory Trail Duathlon, a fund raiser for local children's organizations.

Mr. VanMeveren is also an avid trail runner, mountain biker, skier and triathlete. He ran the Boston Marathon and is a primary sponsor and legal counsel for the Colorado Marathon, the largest marathon in Northern Colorado. He is also very active in the running community, providing legal counsel, promoting and sponsoring numerous children's running events, including the Human Race and the Iron Cougar Challenge. Mr. VanMeveren has completed over 20 marathons and numerous ultra marathons, Xterra events, adventure races and bicycle races. He is a ten-time Ironman Triathlon finisher, including the Ironman Hawaii World Championships.
