Biography

Caitlin Mitchell is a partner in the firm’s Sonoma County office. Her practice focuses on complex civil litigation in a host of practice areas, including commercial and business litigation, appellate work, medical malpractice, intellectual property, employment, cybersecurity, and product liability. Her appellate work has included several appeals, writ petitions, and post-trial motions, including analysis of complex and evolving legal issues, as well as monitoring trial proceedings and consulting on the preservation of appellate rights and remedies.

Caitlin earned her law degree from Santa Clara University School of Law. While in law school, Caitlin participated in a judicial externship for the Honorable Richard Seeborg of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. She also served on the editorial board of the Santa Clara High Technology Law Journal, serving as the managing editor for Volume 36 and as an associate editor for Volume 35. Additionally, she was recognized twice for academic excellence earning the Witkin Award in California Civil Procedure and the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Criminal Law. Caitlin also participated in the law school’s Honors Moot Court Internal competition, earning awards for the Best Oral Advocate for the Preliminary, Semi-Final, and Final rounds, and placing second overall in the 2018-2019 competition. Caitlin also served as the Problem Committee Chair for the 2019-2020 Honors Moot Court Internal competition.

She is a member of the California State Bar Association and the Santa Clara County Bar Association. Caitlin has served on the executive board of the Santa Clara County Bar Association’s Barristers section, including as Treasurer from 2022-2023 and Co-Vice President from 2023-2024.
