Biography

Carl D. Hamilton was a founding partner of the firm in 1985. Mr. Hamilton received a juris doctorate degree in 1966 from the law school at the University of Idaho.

Following his admittance to the Idaho State Bar in 1966, Mr. Hamilton maintained a very successful and distinguished practice in many areas. During the past several decades, he practiced predominantly in the areas of wills, trusts, estate planning and probate until his retirement in 2011.

Now of counsel with the firm, Mr. Hamilton continues to provide administrative support and to be an invaluable resource and mentor to the younger attorneys of the firm.

In 2008, Mr. Hamilton was a recipient of the prestigious Professionalism Award from the Idaho State Bar. The Professionalism Award represents an expression of respect and commendation from the recipient’s peers, and is one of the highest honors any Idaho lawyer might receive during his or her career. The award is given to attorneys who, by their professional and personal conduct, have exemplified for the members of the profession the epitome of what it means to be a lawyer, and who, by so doing, have brought honor and distinction upon themselves and the profession as a whole. Mr. Hamilton is the second of three partners with the firm to have received this award.

Mr. Hamilton was given an “AV Preeminent” rating by the national attorney rating service Martindale Hubbell, representing the highest level of professional excellence in legal ability and ethics.

Mr. Hamilton and his wife, Lynell, are the proud parents of two children, and are the grandparents of two grandchildren.
