Biography

Carol Hopper advises funds, investors, bank and non-bank lenders, and corporate clients on a wide array of domestic and international real estate transactions. She acts for investors at all levels of the capital stack and across the full risk spectrum. Carol has over 30 years of experience working on real estate deals in a wide range of sub-sectors, including office, retail, industrial, residential, hotel/ leisure, education, infrastructure/energy (particularly energy-from-waste and windfarms), and public/private finance transactions as well as considerable experience in the acquisition, development and financing of data centres.

Experience: Representative Matters: Advising Vantage Data Centers on their development of a 500 million data centre campus in North London across two sites and on nearly five acres. The completed campus will total 430,000 square feet and comprise two 24 MW facilities.; Advised LCN Capital Partners on the purchase of Building A Assembly Bristol from AXA IM a 200,000 square feet grade A office building let to British Telecommunications plc.; Advised Tristan Capital Partners on the acquisition of Best Hotel in Deansgate, Manchester and in relation to ongoing hotel management matters.; Advising The Learning Experience on their development and expansion of sites in the UK for a number of children's nurseries.; Advising Valor Real Estate Partners on the development of an industrial/logistics site in Croydon; Acting for SMBC as lender to a number of developers/owners of data centre projects in the UK; Acted for Nuveen on a loan to facilitate the purchase and refurbishment of an office building in North London for co-working space.; Acted for Europa Capital in providing finance for a number of acquisitions and development projects with borrowers particularly in the co-working and private rented sectors.; Acted for the leading listed global packaging business in the U.K. on a 300 million combined heat and power facility in Kent. The completed facility provides 40 MW of sustainable electricity to power U.K. homes and businesses.; Acted for one of the world's largest investment funds based in the United States on several real estate matters, including on the sale of a major European shopping centre and on joint venture arrangements creating platform opportunities particularly in the private rented sector and on generating senior living accommodation in greater London.; Acted for an institutional investor as one of the portfolio of investors into the joint venture known as Accor Invest, owner of in excess of 6bn hotel portfolio of some of Europe's leading and best known hotel brands.; The above representations were handled by Ms. Hopper prior to her joining Greenberg Traurig, LLP.;
