Caroline J. Barker

Caroline J. Barker practices in the Firm’s Complex Litigation, Pharmaceutical Products, Environmental, and Toxic Torts & Products Liability groups. Her practice includes expert witness preparation, expert challenges under the Daubert and Frye standards, motions practice, discovery requests and responses, depositions, class certification challenges, and appellate briefing. In her environmental work, Ms. Barker has defended manufacturers against personal injury, class action, CERCLA cost recovery, and natural resource damage actions involving PFAS, PCBs, TCE, lead, and arsenic.

Ms. Barker received her J.D. and her Master of Public Health in Environmental Health, Science, & Policy Law from George Washington University Law School. During law school, she served as a Legal Intern at the U.S. Department of Justice, Environment & Natural Resources Division, Appellate Section, the Chesapeake Legal Alliance, and at the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. She was Senior Articles Editor of the Federal Circuit Bar Journal and served as Vice President and then President of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Board. She was a finalist in the Mock Trial Board, Cohen & Cohen Mock Trial Competition.

Ms. Barker has successfully represented pro bono clients in custody and landlord/tenant cases. She was awarded High Honors from the DC Bar Pro Bono Honor Roll in 2019, 2021, and 2022.

Ms. Barker received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She was a member of the Firm's 2018 Summer Associate class.
