Caroline Ortego: Attorney with Ortego Law Firm

Biography

Caroline Ortego is an accomplished estate planning and probate attorney with a deep commitment to helping families secure their legacies. Born and raised in Louisiana, she graduated from LSU Law in 2008 and relocated to Texas the following year, where she has since embraced the vibrant culture, including attending the Katy ISD Livestock Show and Rodeo and indulging in her love for tacos. Caroline's passion for estate planning was ignited during her law school years when Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans. Volunteering alongside fellow law students and attorneys, she worked to clear titles for homes lost to the storm, witnessing firsthand the challenges faced by families in the poorest neighborhoods. Many properties were informally passed down without wills or probate, leaving survivors without proof of ownership and access to disaster assistance. This experience underscored the importance of formal estate planning in preserving family assets for future generations. Today, Caroline is dedicated to guiding her clients in making informed decisions that protect their legacies for their children, grandchildren, and beyond.
